New guy here with a question. I am considering an S4, 2018. What type of transmission is used in this year model. DCT, torque converter, other. And what about the AWD drive system, specifically the differentials, front, center, and rear. Conventional limited slip, viscous fluid, electronically controlled, etc?

Any information will be appreciated.

B9 S4 uses the ZF 8 speed transmission, which is a normal torque converter type automatic, with integrated always active asymmetric Torsen center diff and integrated open front diff. Rear diff is either open or sport diff if equipped. The sport diff manner of operation is detailed in Audi SSP 476, can be found via google search.
