Another heating issue.
I did not want to hijack another current heating issue thread, but was wondering about an issue I'm having. The adjustable center vents (not the one that always remains "neutral") is not working - does not blow air - hot or cold, no matter what setting I use. I'm thinking this one warrants a trip to the dealer. BTW, otherwise the car heats up quickly no matter the weather.

I noticed that my A4 doesn’t really use the center vents (i.e. right below the MMI screen) when I have the system set to auto, but if I manually turn up the fan speed and set the vent settings to come out at that level, all of the vents do work. I’m sure the car has a reason for leaving those vents “off” in auto mode.
If this is not the case for you, and they don’t work at all, then yes, a trip to the dealer is advisable!

I completely forgot those vents were functional. When I first got the car I tried the setting to have them open, but like @idealdreams said, if you keep the HVAC in auto, they never open. So I never got to see if they worked or not.

Do you have the vent open? Hold the button up on the climate control setting on the HVAC (the button that says "sync", "3-zones", "rear",etc ). My vent is open but it doesn't blow much air.
