The issue I appear to be having, is less about the fisheye, which I am told is 'normal' and more about what I am guessing is electrical interference.
I am going to push back really hard on this, as I feel it's really unacceptable for a car of this value from 2016 to have a camera of this quality with these issues.
My 2011 BMW had a much better camera and didn't have any of those lines.

It's not normal.
Sometimes I have those lines too when I reverse and the signal switch to camera input, but disappear quickly. Most of the times all ok. Maybe it's some wiring issue? I don't know.

So Audi have shut me out, saying they won't speak to me further about the issue. The dealer, has said the issue is covered under Audi TSB 2029203/8 but I cannot find any reference to it?

I brought my 2018 in last year for flickering and distortion camera image. They replaced it under warranty

I have the same issue . It's sad that the 2017+ A4 backup camera is of such poor quality but it's a well-known issue that Audi refuses to address because, well you would think that a $40kUSD+ car would have a quality camera (and sound system) and they know it too.

Edit: A quick Google search has many threads about the poor quality backup camera on the B9 platform. I have not found a solution to replace it with a better camera.

I took mine into the dealer for the same exact issue and, as typical, they said they couldn't replicate it... which means their tech must be fscking blind.

They referenced the same TSB that has absolutely nothing to do with the image quality issues I was talking about and what are being referenced in this thread. I dropped it because this particular dealer is a PITA to deal with.

If it makes you feel better, I bought my A4 from Carmax and have brought it in for "warranty" repair 4 times, for a coolant leak. Their "techs" weren't able to find the leak but I found the general area with fluorescent dye. Even after telling their techs this, they could not find the leak and replaced the majority of the cooling system. There's a huge difference between an ASE certified mechanic and a seasons USMC aircraft mechanic, so I am very biased.

Whenever I go to my local dealer, the people are more incompetent than Carmax, but at least the Carmax people have a great attitude. The Audi dealer is stuck up.

Edit: I should also mention Carmax honors their warranty (even if you don't pay for the extended warranty, which I never pay for), you have to fight the Audi dealer in man instances to do warranty repair.
