Audi A4 B9.5 Spacesaver
Hi,
I have been looking for a spare spacesaver for my 2020 B9 facelift A4 avant. The dealer kindly told me the wheel I am after has the code 8w0601027 which I have found on ebay for £120+ but I have also seen the 8k0601027 which you can pick up for £50. Both have the same tyre size.
As far as I can tell the 8k is from the B8 model hence the lower price but does anyone actually know the difference between them? Would the cheaper one fit ok?
Thanks

The type 8K (B8 A4) uses the 8K... wheel. The type 8W (B9 A4) uses the 8W... wheel. They both are 19x4 wheels and use a T125/70R19 100M tire, but they are not the same offset. et29 for the 8K, et22 for the 8W. Also, the p/n info is incomplete.
The 8K temp wheel is 8K0 601 027 F 03C (rev D before that, and rev B before that).
The 8K temp tire is 8K0 601 308 RCO, which is a Continental SContact tire (https://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires...omCompare1=yes).
The 8W temp wheel is 8W0 601 027 C 03C (rev B before that, and no rev before that).
The 8K temp tire is 8W0 601 308 RHK, which is a Hankook S300 tire.
Type 8W also has a lighter weight aluminum wheel option, 8W0 601 027 E 03C (rev A before that).
So for the 18" normal wheel and the 19" temp wheel, the 8W has 7mm less offset. Is that just for show, or is it necessary to clear the brake calipers? If the 8K temp will clear the calipers front and rear, it would seem workable. But you'll need it in hand to test.

Thank you for your very detailed response.
Just to add a bit more information for others when I spoke to Audi the guy said to me that a any revision codes after the main codes would be compatible as these are just revisions of the same part.
I will see if I can find a 8k locally and give it a try, if I do I will post the findings
Thanks

Ideally you want the ET22 offset as the ET29 will sit closer to the brakes. If you try the other, make sure you test it on the front wheel as the brakes could be different and foul the wheel.
For my B9 convertible I got the following:
8W0601027 - Space Saver Wheel (125/70/19) “T125/70R19 100M” “244X MWA” “4.00Bx19H2 ET22” HANKOOK S300
8W0011031D - Jack
8W0012109E / F - Foam Holder under the wheel
8W0803899 - Wheel screw holder
I paid about £80 for the wheel itself, £20 for the jack (with a ratchet) and £40 for the foam holder.

Amazing, thanks for all your help, I will start hunting for all the parts, if I can get the wheel for that price I will just keep hunting for the correct one

For the Jack you really don't need to get an Audi one. I got this one from ebay in the end https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/125849678105 and it works fine.
Some of the other parts I got from LLL parts as they were cheaper new than secondhand on ebay. https://www.lllparts.co.uk/product/8...box-8w0012109e

"are just revisions of the same part" Never assume that. Revision letter may reflect an updated part, or it may reflect a completely different application, or a completely different variant, or it might be updated for no apparent reason. If the catalog says X is replaced by Y, then feel free to use X or Y, probably. Unless X got replaced for a reason; sometimes the catalog will say of a superseded revision "part must not be used". That's not the case for this p/n, though. For 8W0601027, _, B, and C are the steel wheel, while A and E are the more expensive aluminum wheel. Use whichever you find. But never adopt that phrase as a matter of policy when reviewing Audi part numbers.
