With my beloved 2017 Audi A4 Quattro Premium approaching 39,000 miles, I am getting ready to schedule it's next service appointment. From what I have gathered, the 40,000 mile service seems to be one of the more extensive one, with many also calling it relatively expensive. Before I start making calls to my service department, does anyone have a ballpark estimate on how much this service could be going for? I've seen numbers all over the place, from a few hundred to over $1,000, so I am trying to get a better idea before I try negotiating with my service department.

My local dealer quotes it at $1237 (plus tax, I assume). Someone else said they were quoted "$1400-ish" in a recent thread on the AudiCare topic. AudiCare - $879 for both 40K and 50K services is a no-brainer if you're going to the dealer.

40K is expensive as it has DSG fluid change and spark plugs, plus a likely brake fluid change it you're around the four year mark, in addition to the other 10K/20K interval services.

The only larger one would be at 80K which is the same as 40K plus check/possibly replace/re-tension the drive belt. (technically, the 240K service would be larger, where the 60K air filter and 80K belt service first meet).

Depends on model year and package. Everyone should check the package purchased to see what service is covered.

I have Audi Care and it covered my 40K (4-year) service, even though I have nowhere near to 40K on my odometer.

I would assume OP didn't purchase AudiCare when new, or this question would be rather pointless.

Thanks for all the replies! Correct, I did not purchase AudiCare when I purchased the vehicle. I'll probably go ahead and get it for the 40 and 50,000 mile service as the $999 Audi wants for it seems fair, considering how much the two services could cost me.

I paid dealer $368 for DSG flush, did plugs, brakes, engine oil etc. myself, didn't have Audicare.
