Default B9 LCI?

Does Audi have an LCI schedule for their models? I'm a BMW owner and BMW usually updates their cars in the 4th year of production for any given model. If so, would the B9 be due for an update for MY2019? If so, is there any information on what those changes may be?

In my experience Audi is on a 3+3 year schedule. Every 6 years is a major model redesign and 3 years into the new design there is a facelift with the potential for new engines and some updated electronics. Sometimes the facelift will include new bumpers and lights and some small changes to the sheetmetal. The basic chassis remains the same. This is why you hear people talk about the A4 B8 and the B8.5 models. If Audi keeps to this schedule the facelift or B9.5 model will be introduced for model year 2020. With the technology changes for self driving features and electrification of cars changes may start to happen quicker. I doubt there will be many changes in MY2019 other than perhaps a reshuffling of the option packages.

I thought B9 was first introduced as a MY2016. MY2019 would be 4th year of production.

US sales typically lag a year behind introduction in Europe.

Also, I believe Europe has strict rules about model year labelling. North America doesn't. MY2017 B9s were being sold in North America in April 2016...

Actually the typical model life is typically 7 years and the facelift appears on the 5th year in the US market. Examples: current C6 A6 came out as a 2012 model in the US and the facelifted version was a 2016. The D4 A8 came out as a 2011 model and the facelift was a 2015 model. With the last generation B8 A4 which was a 2009 model, and the facelift was a 2013. So I expect the B9.5 A4 to appear as a 2021 model year, unless they shorten the 7-year cycle.
