Creaking noise due to faulty body panel - lemon?
Some say all A4 B9 cars built before 2017 may be affected.
But some have reported even with cars built in 2018, 2019.

Yes my car 2019.
Most affected cars - TDI, some TFSI 249hp, probably because of higher torque and vibrations
I’d say if you have any creaking / knocking noise in the footwell this is 99% your problem as it was so severe in my car I thought the engine mounts, subframe or something even maybe everything in the suspension was f**kd, I have a document from Audi stating the issue was sorted in the factory for cars produced after 08 - 2017, HOWEVER a few people with cars after this date have reported the same issue so I’m not sure they’re very accurate, in UK the b*st*rd dealerships are denying the job for goodwill after warranty, but they are aware of the problem presumably since 08-2017 since they changed the “manufacturing process”.
The job itself is very easy in my opinion, a novice diy’er should be able to sort it and does not require a bore scope or to remove the heat shields as explained in the TPI.
I started by Removing the engine undertray and side under trays and you can see the grommet and cover to remove, locate to the tool in the correct position and you will feel the tension when you get to where you need to be, few big hits with the hammer till the tool goes all the way in and the job is done. Took me around a hour Inc making the tool etc.
if anyone needs the English TPI I have it you can contact me and I will send it to you, if you need the tool and you are in the UK I can lend it to you, it’s the exact size etc to the Audi tpi and is in solid 10mm stainless steel so works well, if you are close to London I can help you do the job.
Thanks to you all and good luck to anyone attempting it I hope it solves your issues too !

Bringing Audi to Life for Audi Fans
I see you've removed the cover on both sides.. you hammered both sides?
@Mark Campbell i feel the noise in the rear (passenger side), doesn't sound as bad as in other cars.
I perceive it as a cable hitting a metalic surface, sometimes multiple fast hitting (sounding like a creaking) and sometimes single or double hit.
Happens when going thru bumps / potholes. I hear it every time i back up from the parking spot (the wheels travel a little border)

Removed everything from trunk and same noise
Checked suspension and seems ok
