I bought the exact same S4 mirror caps from the same source as Kenneth and had a similar experience except my car is silver and I underestimated how much you don't notice them on a silver car. I ended up taking them off after just two weeks and they have been in the original packaging/box ever since. If anyone is interested in taking these off my hands feel free to private message me and I can send you photos and will let them go at a very fair price. They have zero damage, no scratches, and are basically brand new as they were only on my car for two weeks. I experienced the same fitment issues as Kenneth so as long as you are aware of those. I paid $179 for the pair (with blind spot cut outs).
I think if you want to make it stand out, go out and get the Dupli-Color Shadow Chrome Black-Out Paint kit, and take your chrome pieces/side mirror and paint them with that. If you do it right you'll get a very nice dark contrasting chrome that isn't black that will give you that contrast you need.

Florett Silver really is an issue with the A4/S4 because everything blends with it. The chrome trim, the aluminum mirrors, the badges, even the lights, etc.
I think if you want to make it stand out, go out and get the Dupli-Color Shadow Chrome Black-Out Paint kit, and take your chrome pieces/side mirror and paint them with that. If you do it right you'll get a very nice dark contrasting chrome that isn't black that will give you that contrast you need.

Carbon Fiber ECS Mirror Caps
Just bought a 2017 Glacier White A4 Premium Plus. Ordered the carbon fiber rear lip spoiler and thinking about adding the carbon fiber mirror caps. I think the carbon fiber against the white will look awesome.

Carbon fiber Mirror cover and Spoiler from China Taobao... Cheap and good!
Guys, seems to me the price to buy a carbon fiber mirror cover at your hometown is very expensive?!
I have just received my Carbon Fiber Spoiler and Mirror cover from Taobao (Under Alibaba group). Both items cost less than SGD $300 (about USD224). And to my surprise, the quality are quite good!
After reading Kenneth's post, I am confident to do the installation myself tonight. Will keep you guys updated for my new mod. Pictures will be uploaded soon~
