Is it normal to be able to hear the outside wind noise at highway speeds without the acoustic side glass? It's not a whistling or a rush of air into the cabin through a bad seal, just the outside air turbulence. It's not obnoxiously loud, but because the rest of the car is so quiet and it's only in my left ear it stands out. The reviews and some posters praised the car on having absolutely no wind noise, but I'm not sure if that was just an exaggeration or if i need to take a closer look at my door and window (this would be a rough issue to prove to the dealer if it is one).

It's not the mirrors since turning them in doesn't change anything. I wonder if electrical tape around the door or window would hold for a test drive.

I have the 2018 A4 Prestige and the acoustic glass in the side windows make wind noise very low. If you can hear the wind there may be a gap in the seal. I would talk to the dealer.

Acoustic glass is on the 2017's as well, at least at prestige level. Blame marketing.

For some reason the US 2017 A4's do not have side acoustic glass (they do have acoustic windshields). The 2018s do (and the 2017 Allroads), though, so it might be hard to find someone else with the same side glass as us who can see if they're hearing the same thing.

My 2017 Allroad (with acoustic glass) is very quiet, even at 125 mph on the autobahn during my European delivery.

Does anyone know if 2017 Canadian A4s came with acoustic glass and if so which trim packages?

Can't speak for certain for Canada, but I believe all A4 trims come with acoustic windshield and (outside the US) acoustic side glass wasn't tied to a trim level or package but it's own add-on.

Acoustic glass or not my 2017 sedan is silent as the tomb. Is it a Prestige thing? I suspect there is acoustic glass all round. I don't know how reviewers get such low decibel readings, even on US cars, without having it.

It's Pilkington glass -- the codes are difficult to discern.
