Harsh audio
I noticed my front speakers getting a bit bright, and hissy at times, depending on the music. Female vocals, cymbals and certain frequencies. I thought it might be my imagination. I tend to favor warmer speakers for home home setup. Now I've noticed that it's worse -- they're harsh at most mid- to higher-range tones. It happens with the volume halfway up. For now, I've put the fader to the back to try to avoid the harshness.
At first, I thought it was the effect speakers, but it seems to be all of the fronts. Tweeters don't usually go bad? The lower sounds as the same as ever. A bit muddy but OK.
Is there a common thread that might apply to my problem?

Tweeters in the car are amazingly dull so would only produce a harsh sound if something failed. Tweeters almost never fail unless you overdrive them and I doubt Audi allows that in the factory system
Disabling the 3D effect will decrease the overwhelming brightness of the system
