How to: remove side mirror caps (NO NEED to take off mirror/screws)
Not sure why everyone in youtube (except for one person) says you need to take out the actual mirrors in order to remove the mirror caps.
It's literary a 2-3 minute job using a trim removal tool and sliding it towards out of the car.
Again- there is NO need to remove the side mirrors and there are absolutely NO screws whatsoever on the mirror caps. FYI- removing/replacing the side indicator OR the side wing housing requires the removal of screws. For those looking to replace the mirror caps for the S4 style (silver or black) it is literary a 2-3 minute job.
Hope this helps!

I believe original poster provides this info
Except... I saw several videos folks breaking those mirrors (lol). This approach could possibly make it easier to remove screws - remove caps first, have easier access to screws, maybe.
I plan swapping OEM side indicators for dynamic ones, will see in hope not so distant future.

This method won't work if you have the side assist lamps AFAICT. I just got some faux carbon fiber caps in and there is no way to remove the caps in the above-stated manner without causing some serious damage to the lamps.

Here all this time I thought the proper way to pop the caps off was to back into my garage door frame.
