Interior lights doesn't work individually
Hi all, I have an 2016 A4 for just less than a year now.
When I turn all of the lights on using a button they work. They also work when doors are open.
However, interior lights don't work when I try to turn them on individually.
Front 2 lights are touch sensitive and rear 2 lights are operated by a button and none of them work individually. I have just recently discovered this (they worked fine until a month ago) and have no idea what the problem could be.
Any idea and suggestion will be very helpful.

The one with the light turns them all on - that works. The one with the car turns them on when doors are open - that works.
The light itself can be turned on individually (just left or right light) and is touch sensitive (turns on and off by touching it) - that doesn't work anymore. Rear side has 2 lights that are turned on and off using buttons/switches (similar to the ones one picture) and individually they also don't work.
Hope that explains it better.

Sorry out of ideas - also thought it could be a fuse but you've confirmed things work with those master buttons unless the fuse operates on a different parallel circuit to the central electronics module. Would need a VCDS scan to see if any related error codes exist.
My Owner's Manual states the Interior Headliner Lights fuse is Position 8 on Fuse Panel B (red) located in Driver's Side footwell for my LH Drive vehicle.

I would say your best bet is to scan for any codes and report back, I believe the car wont let you turn on the individual lights if a door is open and you have the automatic door light function enabled. I had a quick look at the wiring diagram and I cant see anything obvious that could cause all 4 light buttons to stop working, the front two lights and switches are integral to the front roof module and the rear light is a separate assembly but again the lights and switches are one unit

Thanks for the information. I did the scan yesterday and no fault codes popped up. The lights, however, decided to start working again, so I guess it's all fine now. Still have no idea what happened and why.

Anyone know if the side marker lights are supposed to be on when lights are on and car is in motion?
