Missing firewall insulation?

Missing firewall insulation?

I've noticed in pictures of users' engine bay that there is an aluminum looking insulation cover that sits at the back of the engine bay. I took a look at mine and noticed it is not there, instead I have a black cover that isn't only different in color, but looks thinner too.

Am I missing the proper insulation, or do Canadian models (2017 A4 Quattro Technik) just have a different kind?

Mine is a 2018 American Prestige and it does not have the silver backing. I've wondered the same as to which cars get that and which ones don't.

I asked the same thing about mine a while back (https://www.audiworld.com/forums/a4-...erial-2919087/) and we never did figure it out for sure. I did notice that i did not see any other 17 A4s with it, but a lot of the A5s and later 18 A4s seemed to, so i could only guess that maybe Audi is moving to the black material over time?
