I see this creating problems for the not so patient...

This seems really exciting. This is the kind of add-on that might get me to keep an active subscription to Connect Prime.
"If you have a 2017 Audi A4, A4 allroad, or Q7 built after June 1, with a cellular connectivity package, you will be able to use the feature (in cities where it's enabled)".
I need to go look at my manufacturing date.

It seems AT&T is the technology provider. "AT&T is announcing initial smart city framework deployments in Atlanta, Chicago, and Dallas. Though the announcement is lacking in specifics, Lurie thinks those cities will begin to see benefits this year."

Ever been sitting at a traffic light late at night, and there are no cars driving on the cross street you are stopped at, yet the light is still red?
If all cars were able to communicate with the traffic lights, and the communication was both ways, then there would be no need for a light to ever turn red unless there were cars that need to drive past on the cross street.
Also, for future autonomous driving systems, I see this as a necessity. Just like that Tesla had an issue seeing a truck because of its color, I can imagine many situations where there is glare from oncoming headlights or bright sunlight and the car's camera has trouble figuring out what color a traffic light is.

At that point I take a right turn and than a U turn and than turn right if I need to go straight. It's like running the light semi legally.
