Hi All,

I normally use my phone (Samsung S9+) to stream music and navigation directions (Waze) via bluetooth to my car speakers. Couple days ago I decided to try out the SD card reader in the glove compartment and copied a bunch of songs to a 16GB SDHC.The music plays fine however Waze directions will not play to the car speakers while the music is playing. My phone is still connected to the car normally on BT and making calls is fine via the car speakers. It is like MMI cannot detect waze directions from the phone.

If i change the Waze settings so that the directions plays over the phone speakers then that is fine of couse.

Anyone experience this problem? Thanks.

It's not a problem. When you are playing files off the SD card the car stops A2DP (BT streaming) input. The phone remains connected via BT for calls.

Thanks for the quick response Breadbooze - i guess theres no way around this? Music just sounds better via SD card.

You should be able to use the SD card as audio source and use Waze through Android Auto for spoken nav and road condition warnings.

This is only slightly related to your question, but I've had my satellite radio go silent while using Waze. Had to go through every setting and basically jump through hoops to get the sound to come on. Don't know what the problem is.

Thanks for all the feedback. I reverted back to my phone for streaming music and Waze via Android auto. My region does not provide Android auto or carplay on MMI so I'm stuck using my phone but Atleast I was able to get a beta version of Waze that is integrated via AA.

VC here cost about 8.5K USD which I couldn't justify being a weekend driver living in the city.
