Default Power Folding Mirrors not synced

Not too big of a deal but it seems like the passenger side mirror folds and unfolds faster than the driver's side.

They look like they move at the same time and I can't actually tell besides the motor noise of the mirrors turning. It seems like after passenger side mirror is done folding/unfolding, I can still hear the motor of the driver's side mirror moving/turning for about 0.5 - 1 second.

Does this happen to anyone else?

Every Audi does that. It is normal.

If it's normal, I'm fine with it.

But do you know why it's like that?

I tested it at work, and experienced the same thing. Don't know why they are different though.

I suspect the mirror motors Audi sources have an acceptable range of speed variance tolerances.

Sounds like it's not variable at all and this behaviour is consistent across many (all?) models. Seems like a deliberate design choice... I'm just curious as to why?

Same for BMW, guessing the computer controlling it is managing the total peak start-up current draw by sequencing activation the motors(?)

I don't have rectractable mirrors but I believe the explanation is that the mirror housings have different angles (a sharper angle for the passenger side). The result is that the distans to move is less on that side.

And here I was thinking that it was faulty. Never noticed it on my A6 or A7 though. Should pay close attention the next time.
