Hello all,

I recently purchased an Audi A4 without Audi Smartphone Interface (MMI Plus system). Already made sure the phone interface is unlocked via MIB Tools.


I now have a 1x USB (Charge only) and 1x AUX under my armrest, so that needs to be replaced.

There seem to be two options for this:

- 8W0 035 736 (2x USB, 1x AUX)



This seems to be the most used when activating ASI.

- 8W0 035 708 (1x USB, 1x AUX)




This one should also work... and is considerably cheaper than the 2x USB variant.

But now the question; There is 1 less USB port, but the 708 has one extra purple connector. What is it for?
The wiring harnesses on the internet only have the green connector.

Anyone have experience with this? Thank you in advance

I've bought also a cable with it.

Can someone please also explain to me the wiring? I struggle a bit with the square black and green connector, do I need to make changes to those cables? I've read in some cases you need to modify it a bit.

thats mostly from 1 usb to 2 usb … I’m only changing from 1 usb charge only to a data usb.

i read the other topic but see many differences.

Yeah, look specifically at my posts, 28, 29, 31, but start with 35 so you get an understanding. And if you're trying to look at all this on a phone, good luck.
