Been looking to jump into something new, and the refresh REALLY had me tempted. I've thought for the longest time that I for sure wanted an S4 or S3... until today.

I test drove a new A4 quattro, then an S3 back to back. I must be crazy, but the A4 felt like it had better power, or at least better power delivery! I was SUPER impressed with how it drove and how it performed... more than I though I'd be.

I had a 2014 S6 with an APR tune, then went back to an economical car (Focus ST)... now I'm looking for something "in between" the two. I really wanted to love the S3, but compared to the B9 A4 I was a bit underwhelmed.

Props to Audi for showing the world just how incredible a 4-cylinder luxury car can really perform. Now... to find one that I can justify dropping $50K on!

I too was sold on the A4 following the test drive. I was originally for sure that I was going to get one with the sport package but after driving a fully loaded Prestige (without sport) I decided to go with the non-sport. I couldn't tell just by looking at the height if it was sport and the standard seats were pretty comfortable for me. Engine and ride quality were buttery smooth.

I ended up ordering a Glacier White Prestige with cold package. Got it about 6.5% MSRP. Should be here late August. Can't wait!

There are a few key differences between the available packages and standard features between the 2017 and 2018 thread. There's a thread you can search here for with the 2018 order guide when it was released that has a lot of good information on the differences between each year.

The B9 A4 is extremely refined and quiet. Much better than the A3 and even the S3. The S3 is technically faster but the A4 refinement and driveability makes it seem faster. Hell, I drove the S4 and C43 AMG and even those two were unrefined compared to my A4!
