How do you do this and how often do you update your software? Heard there might be an update later this year to give wireless Apple car play. Thank you for any help!

Audi rarely updated the MMI and then only for bug fixes. I seriously doubt they would update to add wireless CarPlay based on their past history. There are a number of people on this list who have 2017 and would love to have the subwoofer adjustment control that was introduced in 2018 but I do not think anyone was able to talk their dealer into this.

It would be great if they changed this corporate policy so I guess we will just have to wait and see.

If you find a dealer willing to update your MMI software....marry that dealer 😂

As it was explained to me, either here or by the dealer or both, Audi has a list of software versions approved for each VIN, and that's the software that VIN gets... to the point that if you were to get a new module for something or other that had newer software loaded on it at the factory, when the dealer pairs it to the car, the software on that module will be downgraded to that VIN's approved version. The only way you get newer software is if a recall/TSB authorizes a newer version for your VIN...
