VCDS or OBDEleven for basic work
For basic maintenance on an Audi a4 b9 TDI avant I’m looking for a decent tool. I’m doing stuff like replacing the fuel filter, replacing brake pads/disc and I know you need software for these tasks. I’m planning to do these smaller jobs just on my own car for the foreseeable future. Bigger jobs I’ll let the garage do.
What would be a good software tool for these things? VCDS seems very useful but also more pricy for the 3 VIN option. But I have also seen people make good use from OBDeleven given you buy options with credits.. Or am I missing another option?
VCDS is more expensive; but, it is kind of like a latte is more expensive than a drip coffee. Neither tool is close to the 3 figures expensive range of professional tools and in the grand scheme of things the cost difference is a small factor. I would select on the basis of ease of use and is it going to do what you want to do.
