I activated VIM with obd11, video playback works while in motion but I'm still unable to see texts or email while in motion. I know some others said that there was an sms option when activating it ,but the only option I had when installing it was on or off. Am I missing something? Thanks

Check your phone. Under Bluetooth Settings you need to have notifications active. If it's not, only phone calls will come through.

No the texts and emails come through, what I'm saying is I can't read them if the car is in motion. I thought enabling VIM would allow me to still be able to see the messages when in motion

I used the paid OBDEleven script to disable VIM. I think I can read my texts, but I'll double check. That said, Android Auto (and presumably CarPlay as well) is much better than MMI for receiving and sending text messages since it can all be done via voice.

I used the paid app as well but I remember other members saying that there was an option for SMS & VIM when purchasing. I didn't have that option.
