I spoke with Audi today, they say that the ultrasonic sensors that you say is missing in this car under is named something called Parking system plus with front and rear ultrasonic sensors. Audi says that it is not automatic but has the same features as an autonomous system and will tell you by beeps if you are going to hit the curb, the car in front or the car in back.
If this is correct [I do not know] then it is merely a software upgrade.

It's not correct. Here is a picture that shows the additional sensor needed located in front of the wheel arch.
This may help visualize it, this is the euro spec with the correct front sensors, ours just extend the same range as the others so you would need new outward sensors to make park assist work. Also, a total of 12 sensors vs 8 in America.
Parking system = rear ultrasonic sensors
Parking system plus = front and rear ultrasonic sensors
Parking system with rearview camera = rear ultrasonic sensors plus rearview camera
Parking system plus with rearview camera = front and rear ultrasonic sensors with rearview camera
Parking system plus with topview camera = front and rear ultrasonic sensors with 360 degree cameras (one in front, one under each mirror, and the rearview camera)
The button is for the hill hold assist which engages the brakes so that the car doesn't move backwards or forwards, it's using the ABS system and not the eBrake, so it's faster, quieter and with less wear
No, hill hold is via the rear brakes and lasts for 3 seconds. That button is for auto-hold which will hold your car at a stop without your foot on the brake.
