Default Cab as main car rather than second vehicle - security risks ?

Hashluck's post about fuel consumption and the fact that many owners have the cab as a 2nd car, got me thinking about security.

This will be my main car; and will get taken around to supermarkets, out late at night for takeaways, or wherever (I'm in West London).

Do those of you who use it only as a second car, balk at certain uses of it, for safety/security reasons ? Do you keep it inside at night, avoid using it for late-night drives, use it mainly for weekend drives, or whatever ?

Just wondering how much additional risk mine will be at, by being the primary loadhauler for going down to the pub in...

Mine is my only car, and yes I am certainly more choosy about where I leave it than previous cars. Just feel the soft top is a bit of a lowlife magnet.

Sad inditement of todays society...

:-(

For what it is worth I plan to use the car more and we have toured Eastern Europe in it. I have tended to be careful but not **** about where we leave it and often leave the top down (with interior sensing disabled) and so far no hassles just nice comments from people admiring it on our return.
In fact I have never had any problems with Audi or TVR soft tops I have used every day whereas a previous A4 saloon was broken into 3 times whilst those soft tops were also on the drive.

Hi Gans,
Had my Cab for 9 months now and although I was initial very careful where I left it I've never had a problem. I still park at the back of supermarket car parks and far a way from 4x4's but no issues.
I'm also in West London and the car is parked on the street at night.
If fact if your interested it's for sale at a very reasonable price ;-)

Thanks for the reassurance bout real world conditions: Eastern Europe and West London covers most of the possibilities

Got mine now, so thanks but no thanks on the 'for sale' :-) Why are you getting rid of it ?
