CVT whine

Default CVT whine
I noticed that my new car (1.8T) has a whine noise when I push on the gas (not hard - still breaking her in). I can only hear it when the radio is off or I am listening to talk radio (gaps in sound). Is this normal for the CVT? Sound doe not occur when I lift off the gas. Thanks.

Same here, mine is a 1.8T CVT as well.

What engine is in your cab? I have the 3.0--no wine after 11,000 miles. Maybe the tranny and 1.8t combined have something to do with this whine sound.
