Default Footwell lights not working

After years between Audis, I'm back in the fold.
Have a new-to-me 2003 A4 Cabriolet 3.0 FWD with a few issues I'm trying to sort out.

1. None of the footwell lights work, nor the glove box light. Door lights and front reading lights work OK. Checked fuse F2 and fuse is fine.
2. Fuel door locking/not working and seems that previous owner at some point may have disconnected wiring.

I have a VAGCOM so can do some looking.
Any suggestions appreciated.

1. You start at the fuse compartment on the drivers side dash...use key to pry open and slide cover out. On the inside there are the fuse layout - diagram and configuration. It should look similar to mine below. The odds of both bulbs burned out is slim...but possible. Also the foot well lights do work at night only, at least on the passenger side, I discovered this when I was installing the Audi logo door courtesy lights. Check F2 with respect to black probe securely grounded and make sure 12.6VDC is indeed there and at both sides of the fuse. .

2. The Fuel door on my mine does not lock either...there is no latch or cable on mine, so check yours for actuator cable.

Default All 4 footwell lights don't work, nor glove box light

Bump

Door red lights and courtesy outside lights turn on when doors open, so it is not a switch problem.

Door Courtesy Projector Lamps

Rear Underseat Footwell Assembly

My son uses the Audi all the time so in the course of a year I noticed (4) lights did not work and found all open filaments, you can see the telltale signs of molten metal coating the bulb glass. I also noticed the courtesy lights are sequenced so you have to manually unlock the passenger side button and it resets the cabin light & window bump sequence so when driver unlocks door the passenger side courtesy side lights properly. Complicated like the convertible top sequence.

Still unresolved so bumping up.
Fuses are fine, Door switches are fine. Tested a few bulbs for continuity and they were fine.
