Default July 2005 (06 model) major facelift

I know the saloon A4 is to get a face lift this November and the cab next year. A little worried paying 34K to take delivery of my 3.0 Q Cab next month if the change is gonna happen so soon.

Default look at it two ways:

yes the facelift will happen, but if you do take delievery now, the audi STILL is a great looking car even if a newer body style is will be out in alittle over a year. No one really knows for sure what the new sedan will look like nor does anyone have a clue what the cab will look like until september when audi releases the final pics and information. Saying this, im sure the new cabs will have better performance. your call, i would personally wait to see what audi does and see when the new 2006-07 cabs will be ready for delievery and how the look. Im personally waiting for pics and info on the new m3 as the pics floating on the web look awesome.

Yep, if I hadn't placed a non refundable deposit I might be sitting on my hands right now. But my heart still misses a beat when I pass a cab on the road and shouts " I must have one" plus the thought of a 1k loss when I can be driving such a great car for a year without a wait for the facelift I guess swings it. I just hope Audi will continue to be gentle to its current customers when applying the latest changes.

Default You'll love the current A4 cab no matter what...

... and if you lease, then you can upgrade to the full platform change in a couple of years instead of an incremental face lift. The next-gen cab will probably get a hardtop, improved quattro (with 60/40 power split) and lots of tech goodies seen in the new A6 (keyless entry, full MMI, adaptive cruise conrol, cornering headlights, etc).

After owning 2 slk's and appreciating the practicality I'd love to see the A4 cab in hard top form.

I heard that Quattro with the Torsen T3 center differential will have a 30/70 front/rear hp and torque split under normal conditions. FWIW, Quattro with Torsen T3 is supposed to allow for a near 50/50 front/rear weight distribution because it allows the engine to be mounted right behind the front axle, the gas tank right in front of the rear axle and the tranny and Torsen T3 center differential to be mounted one on top of the other with the tranny and Torsen T3 center differential mounted between the engine and gas tank. I believe this is due to the smaller size, lighter weight, better space efficiency and exceptional flexibility that Torsen T3 provides plus the exceptional flexibility that the D3 and C6 platforms provide and the exceptional flexibility that the B7 platform will provide.
