Default 2006 should bring huge changes, even a rename as the A5...

... and the fishmouth (which I now love), a 255 HP 3.2 FSI etc.

Also, look for the next major redesign to boast a hard top.

Default Just check out the new VW hardtop 4 seater concept...

... It will be the world's first true 4 seater with a hardtop. Innovations include a large retractible sunroof while the top is up!

Audi and VW share convertable top technology (the VW bug convertable uses the same manufacturer and tech as the A4 Cab) so expect the next gen A4 cab (rumored to be named A5 alongside a coup version) to have a similar roof as the VW concept.

Audi is being very, very aggressive with its rapid rise to the premium segment. I wouldn't be surprised if they equal (or perhaps even better) BMW's dominance in the market segment within a dacade.

Default ill have to look at that

i dont think they will change the a4 cab over that soon to an a5 in 2006. i am guessing 2007 when the b7 platform comes out and the new b7 sedans have been out already for a few months, just a guess.

Default Well, the 2006 facelift should only bring incremental upgrades like the 3.2FSI, DVD nav etc...

... and I also wouldn't expect the hardtop until the new cabriolet platform (B7 or C6). But I have heard that the Audi series names will begin to fill out (A5, A7) as soon as next year.

Similarly, BMW's recent introduction of the 1 series will be followed by the 4 series (the coup and covertable versions of the 3 series). So a B6 based A5 coup and cabriolet is not such a far-off idea. We'll know soon enough.

Default From what I have heard, the A5 Cabriolet will be on the B7 platform with the next A4

while the A5 Coupe will be on the C6 platform with the new A6. The bodystyle of the A5 Coupe and Cabriolet will be the same as the Nuvolari concept. As for size, the A5 Cabriolet should be the same as the B7 A4 while the A5 Coupe should be the same as the C6 A6. The weight of the A5 Coupe and Cabriolet should be the same since convertibles are typically heavier than coupes when they are the same size.
