Strange Rear Bulb Warning Light
Hey everyone,
All of my Audis are being temperamental. This time, my daughter's 06' A4 Cabrio S-Line 1.8. It keeps flashing a warning signal on the gauge cluster but no bulbs are actually burnt out. The back of the car looks fine. When I pulled the fault codes with a VCDS, well; I actually received a huge list of faluts- But specific to *this* issue, I received:
01502 - Bulb for Rear Fog; Left (L46)
57-00 - Electric Circuit Failure
What in the world is the fog light and where is it?? Usually it's something on the bumper, but this vehicle doesn't have that. Just the normal tail lights. Can someone help?
Thanks!
George

There is a fog light in the left rear light assembly. Most likely the bulb needs to be replaced. There's four bulbs in the assembly, I think it's integrated (fog light) w/tail light bulb # 5007.
Good luck,

Sadly, this did not fix the issue. In fact, the reverse light stopped working as well, after doing this haha! I just took it back a part and fiddled with it until it started working again and I think it is fine now. Anyhow-
I'm beginning to think that the full size bulb in the brown socket is the right one. I can't find the diagram for a Cabrio anywhere. It seems this is a B7 which is actually a B6 and has different lighting than a sedan. SO I am not sure what I am hunting for anymore!

Check the tail light connector pins and sockets for signs of corrosion or overheating. Clean with denatured alcohol and gentle scraping with a pick or dentists tool. Those pins are slightly underrated for the current they carry, overheating them; especially if you have poor contact by weathering. Use dielectric grease once clean to prevent more contact damage
