4G8953502P This is for ACC and ALA. Always double check your part numbers and read every listing carefully to make sure that is the actual part number you are buying.

No unfortunately now that I'ts fully functional It seems it only activates via the stalk button. The menu selection only switches the console view to the ACC/ALA display. I did correct in later post. Keep in mind there is unit for ACC equipped cars with distance settings and another for Non-ACC cars.
If anyone needs Active Lane Assist column switch without ACC, I have one available to sell, just PM me if anyone is interested.

Seems to be correct.
One other question is if my imagemodule, and camera have the right sw, I know someone who did all of this, but according to VAG, the sw was not new enough.

OK, I can get my hands on the part.
I was thinking about buying a vag-com anyway but before I do, is there anyone anywhere near Tulsa, OK that could do the mods for me?
I'd be willing to drive a couple hours (I'm always willing to drive this car).

Performing this modification on an A8 D4
I have been thinking of fitting this to my A8 D4. Of the modules 10, 16, 17, 44, 85 and 8E, I have everything except 44 (Steering Assist). My impression is that what this module does may be controlled elsewhere in my car, so 44 may not be essential to the operation of Lane Assist in my car. Does anyone know if I am correct?
I could just try fitting the new set of column stalks and see if it will work, but perhaps you have the knowledge to save me a pointless dismantling operation.
