A6 turns itself off
Hi,
I have A6 Allroad Quattro 2013 and it turns engine off every time when I open the door and leave the car. How can I deactivate this program or ignore this?

Your service dept. can do it or you can yourself with a VCDS (Vag-Com) cable and software.
Try an AW search - this topic has been covered extensively.

I had to fight my service dept to get this done. They claimed AoA had retired the TSB and I had to get special permission to have it applied to my car. I'm glad I insisted especially when it is -10 out!

My understanding is it was activated at the factory starting with MY2013. Perhaps something to do with the "energy saving" start-stop feature which was also intro'd that model year in U.S. models.

Another case of legal departments insisting on "features" to protect against possible suits from people doing stupidness.
My 2012 A6 has a "feature" where if you open the driver's door when the car is in reverse, the emergency brake comes on. (And yes, you should not be driving in gear with the door open. I get that.) There was one lot that I had to park in occasionally which would fine you if you were not properly with the space so the practice I had for my previous cars was to back into the space and then while in gear but with my foot on the brake, open the door just to check the lines and then adjust if need be. With the 2012 A6, I need to open door, check, close door, reset e-brake, etc.
