Default Amazon Fire Stick Compatability

Has anyone with a facelift version (16+) ever tried just plugging an Amazon Fire Stick into either of the USB ports to see it works on the MMI? I see people with the pre-face lift cars using a few different components to get it to work, but since we have a USB port thought I just ask.
If it won't work, could someone list the components needed for the set up with the face-lifted MMI? Thanks.

What are you smoking?
Amazon Fire Stick plugs into an HDMI port, not a USB port.

Wouldn't you rather have some firewater, amigo? Firesticks among friends can be a source of problems, although they are very useful in hunting.

I guess you're right. So what are the components I need to plug the FireStick into the USB input (under the front armrest?) to get both audio/video signal via HDMI? I'm thinking Amazon Firestick over my 3rd gen Apple TV because the Firestick doesn't need a separate power supply..

As far as I know, current MMI is not designed to receive external video signal, at least not through its USB ports. The USB ports on MMI are meant to serve as mass data storage extensions (files).
