I was in the same type of deal. I went 2013 with lower miles. The difference in value between 2012 and 2013 will pay for your 2012 option upgrades. Values are similar. I just wanted a less used car that was lightly driven and new car smell

I prefer the S-line package so I would go with the 2012 A6 Prestige.
I tend to keep cars long term so the extra 12,000 miles wouldn't make much of a difference.

Fully loaded 2012 Prestige would be my choice. 17Kmiles is nothing on this car but all tech goodies that will come with it will make a big difference. Good luck with your choice.

The only answer that makes any sense is what your priorities are. More features or later model. In the end, only you can decide which is going to ring your bell. I like all the toys. Someone else will prefer the lower mileage and newer year. What's most important to you?
No offense, but to me these kinds of questions in the Forums feel like someone asking which shorts they should buy - the jockeys or the boxers? There's clearly advantages and disadvantages to each. I just don't believe others can really provide advice to me on that choice - just their preference. In the end, I'll have to choose what's best for me - keeping things in place or enjoying a nice breeze.
