I thought about it, and even measured my 2015 and there is no way the Kenwood would fit mine. The depth of the pocket the speaker fits in is 36mm (Kenwood spec is 43mm) and it is slightly smaller diameter at the bottom than the top so a large magnet would also affect fit. Maybe if you had a mounting ring to raise the speaker up a bit, but it would have to be just enough to get it to fit but not so much to interfere with the grille. The stock Bose is only 27mm in depth as it is very low profile and using neodymium magnet.

Thanks...I looked on Best Buy and they no longer have the 1065 Kenwood spkrs, but the 1066. And although they don't post a good pic of the height, they appear to be somewhat shallower according to the specs listed. . I will go to the store and check it out I think.

Yeah the KFC-1066S it is still 43mm deep so I don't think it will fit.At least not based on spec and measurement. Might be worth a trial fit though.

I replaced mine with no problem using the Kenwood 1066. FYI the green/yellow wire is the negative wire. I used a multimeter to determine the polarity.

Does anyone know if this center speaker is still problematic (whether buzzing or overpowering) in the latest C7's? I have a 2018 A6 with the Bose system, and I don't hear buzzing from the sound but I'm not particularly impressed by this system! I'm wondering if I would like the sound more if this speaker was disconnected....

It'd be shocking if this was still a problem though, 6 years later...

I don’t know the type of power amp that Bose uses but their impedance is typically lower than standard 4 or 8 ohms. Some types of amplifiers can blow their driver chips when there is no load at all.
My Bose system is only a problem when listening to a phone call on BT where the center speaker sounds terrible.

I bought the Kenwood KFC-1065S speakers, but when I removed the trim and the PoS Bose speaker I discovered that the installation space was not deep enough by at least 1/2".

Of course the A7/S7 dash could be different, but wanted to check if you had to modify the space at all to fit in your A6.

go to www.crutchfield.com they have all the fitment details or call them. Super helpful, and they will help you with the installation through phone support and online guides they provide.

+1. I can attest to that based on previous installs I've done. They are second to none!
