Got the letter last week and had the car in for service today for maintenance. Looks like this requires parts and they don't know when it will be available. The SA guessed sometime in November maybe. There is also another recall hot off the press on passenger side detector!!!

Just got mine. Notice asks you to park your vehicle outside and not in a garage. Will Audi cover damages (theft, hail, etc.) if you follow their recommendation?

I received the same letter, except mine stated that "a fix is not yet available".
Good thing we will all be parking them outside now. That way when the airbag deploys improperly (see https://www.nhtsa.gov/recalls?nhtsaId=18V370) it won't make a mess in the garage!

1) Just wondering if it's safe to drive with an open safety recall until the end of the year?
2) Why are they asking to park outside? Is there a chance to catch fire even though the engine isn't running?I didn't understand the logic behind parking outside when the engine isn't running.
