Default Errant green menu transmission setting ??

I was in the green menu today reviewing some other settings, and in the /diagnose/coding menu, the Transmission (#24) value indicates that it is set as [Front wheel drive], yet I have a 2012 Audi A6 Quattro 3.0 TFSI. The other potential settings are [Rear wheel drive] and [Quattro]. Seems to me this should be set to [Quattro], correct ?

I can't imagine why it would be set to anything else.

I did find one German site where the same finding was brought up by an owner with an A4 3.0 TDI Quattro, and the only feedback they received was not to touch the setting without knowing what it specifically would impact, although another user indicated that it likely wasn't an active setting.

Transmission im Hidden Menu (/diagnose/coding) : Audi A4 B8

I am tempted to change it, but think I should log some current potentially related transmission values with OBDEleven first.

Fight the urge. If it aint broke, don't fix it.

Argh, I know, I know....but my pseudo-OCD kicks in, and knowing that value is sitting there eats away at my brain. I changed it over today and nothing untoward has occurred, and no codes are thrown. I will keep monitoring it and see if there are any issues. Or....I may chicken out and change it back. Common sense and irrational neurosis always in conflict ;-)

I was just rummaging around the green menu on my 2014 S4 and found the same setting. I assume it doesn't have any function because my car is driving all fours and the sport diff is working fine. I immediately wanted to change it and see what happens but I resisted the urge; I have the DSG and don't really want to have to replace it because I was stupid. It must be for another vehicle that uses the the same core software and is just left in there because none of us are supposed to have access to the engineering menus anyway!

Come to think of it, being under diagnose might be a clue...it's likely that when the car is hooked up to either factory software or maybe ODIS the appropriate option is selected for diagnostics. It probably isn't used except in very specific situations.

That could be. I have kept it changed to Quattro since February with no issue or change.

I'm having trouble getting into the green menu on 2018 a6. I simultaneously hold down the Car and Menu buttons, but it does not go into the green menu. Is that how you get into yours?
