This isn't ground breaking important stuff for sure but I'm simply curious. Came to my attention today that pre-2016 C7 A6's have at least these two different front bumpers (this excepting of course those that have the fog lights). Is there some consistency as to which models they allocate to? Secondly, regarding pic 1 type bumper, I've looked at Amazon and E-Bay but can't find plastic inserts for the two lower edge side grills that have a chrome accent on the single crossbeam (plenty of chrome accent subs for the pic 2 style. Does anyone know where to get them for the pic 1 type? Thanks

I've wondered too. My 2016 TDI is different than both of those, but closer to pic #2

Okay, transpired I answered my own question and since I knew nobody here could sleep soundly tonight without getting that answer, it is that pic 1 is the S6 emulation bumper that is also worn by S-line A6 models while pic 2 is the standard bumper design of non s-line. Meanwhile thus found my lower side grill inserts with chrome accent on center bar on E-Bay.

Alas, as so much is these days, it's gonna be a slow boat from China (large carrier pigeon perhaps?) so it'll be a while I suspect but watch this space as they say.
