Default Fast forward iPod music

I usually listen to my iPod in the car. One feature I miss is the ability to skip parts of the song through fast forward. In my Beemer, I could keep the next song button pressed to skip parts of a song, however here I am only able to skip to next song via the scroll wheel. Unless I am missing something, does anyone else feel the missing functionality ?

You are missing something...mine works like this using the << >> buttons next to the volume control ****:
One press of >> goes to next song then each press advances to the next song
One press of << goes to beginning of current song then each press goes back a song
Hold down >> to fast scan forward through the current song
hold down << to fast scan backward through the current song
Selector **** is useful if searching forward or back for a specific song

Anyway to get the volume(radio,SAT etc) to remember the last setting?.. Getting annoyed with having to adjust the volume after every startup.Looked through the manuals and didnt see anything.

I've not seen that anyone has found a way to change this behavior so far, even with VCDS.

Quick question on DVD formats... I burned a dvd movie to play in the car using regular NTSC standard on dual layer DVD+R DL verbatim disk... it keeps saying no medium available or something like that. This happens while parked or driving... the VIM mode has been done.

This dvd plays fine on the pc and regular dvd players. Is there a specific format I'm supposed to be burning dvd's for an audi?

Did you finalize the disc? If the disc can still be written to, that may throw the MMI for a loop.
