Mmi screen gremlin
A few times over the past week, my mmi screen has not popped up on start. I have had to push the button two or three times before it responds. Anyone else with that issue?

I have not... but just a thought, even if it were to return to normal function, I would report the issue on your next service appt... if for no other reason than to get it noted in your service record. From what I've read about the A8, repairing an MMI that fails to deploy is a pretty pricey proposition.

You are not alone. I have seen mine happened 2 times since i got the car for the first week. First time was that the MMI extended ~1" out then stopped. Had to press the button a couple times for it to pop up. second time was that it wont come out at all. Since then, i have not seen it happen again.

Has happened to me occasionally. At least once, less than 10x so far. Took some pix and will be reporting it to the service dept on my next visit. I wish there was a setting on the MMI where you can control if the screen pops in/out every time the car starts or turns off. Is there a vag com setting for it?

Same problem for my 2012. Infrequent issues with screen nor retracting or deploying. I finally got around to getting it addressed at my 15K service. The dealer said the issue was in the mmi gear, and also required a new MMI version (which was apparently released late in september. I had to leave my car an extra day for the dealer to receive the new MMI version).
So far - no issues.
