I agree with you. I have the sport steering wheel as well and I’m satisfied with the level of heat that it produces.

It could be the difference in the wheel.

What wheel do you guys that are not satisfied have?

I don't think the intent was to provide sufficient heat to defrost frostbitten fingers, but rather, as stated, to get the wheel to a comfortable temperature as soon as possible and keep it there. I have the 2013 Sport wheel and love it. Just set it and forget it.

Good discussion! I tend to be an "always cold" type of person but prefer not to have to start driving with gloves on and then have to pull them off while driving. My former BMW pretty much heated up almost immediately and stayed on and hot/warm until it timed out, then shut itself off. If I wanted more heat, I just had to press the button on the steering wheel again (which had a small light by the way to let you know it was on - nice feature). The Audi of course does not require turning it on all the time, you can just set it and leave it - nice feature. I just wish is got hot faster and stayed warmer longer. When it cools to "room temperature" it still feels cool to me. Is what it is I suppose and by the posts on here, a matter of personal preference.

I also feel that the steering wheel does not heat very well, especially when compared to the heated wheel on my Jeep Grand Cherokee.

When I had them check it at the Audi dealer they found nothing wrong and I was told that that was as warm as it would get and they are all like that.

My dealer told me this was done to encourage hand placement at these places.

Default Disappointed with Heated Steering Wheel

(I'm new) Having just read this thread, it rather all makes sense to me now. After the dealer replaced the heated steering wheel in my 2010 A6/cold package because it was throwing alternating "wheel on" / "wheel off" messages repeatedly for no particular reason in the CPO I just bought, I drove off, switched on and waited for heat that basically never came. I'm remembering and comparing to the heated wheels on the '01 allroad and the great old 200 quatro turbo wagon, those things were like putting your feet by the fire in a ski lodge, they were radiant and nice! These things are Limp. I could scarcely tell it was working, and I'm still not sure their not and its not just me wanting to think I feel heat. I brought it back and they checked it out and swear its fine. All I can say is that they get to a point where the wheel is not cold, and maybe faster than if you had to wait for the ambient in the car to penetrate a frozen wheel, but to me, that's not what you buy a heated steering wheel. Would it kill them to make the temperature adjustable?
