Default Negotiating Price - what should I target?

Looking at a 2013, 3.0, Prestige, 20" sport package, fine grain ash, black headliner, side assist, quartz grey. It is not in inventory. Through AMEX I see $56,578 (after $1,500 audi loyalty) and invoice on NADA and True Car is $57,403.

About to start negotiations - what should my first offer be?

Decim8r is right.. however since it's not in inventory they might charge you a fee to get it there.

I got Premium Plus similar to yours without 20" sport package. MSRP was $57,800.. Invoice was $52,717, I negotiated to $52,900. They had it in inventory so that helps a lot when you negotiate as they want to get it off their lot.

So up about $500 above invoice is realistic. They might haggle with you if they have to bring it in.

Default Negotiate after deposit

We bought a 2013 Premium Plus Glacier White, fine grain ash, nougat brown lthr, black headliner, side assist, all wx mats in Feb. I gave them a $1,000 deposit. No paperwork was signed at the time. The car was in Houston and was going to take a week to arrive. The day after we left the dlrship I called the salesman and told him he could either take another $500 off our balance ($35,500 to $35,000 with trade) or I would see him in an hour to retrieve my deposit. It took 2 minutes for him to agree after "talking with the mgr". I had never done this before but from now on it will be my MO. I believe once they make a sale they do not want to lose it over $500 on a $52k plus car. And the deposit is refundable until you actually buy the car here in WA so no contract has been broken.

I have 4-5 different places around town, I called each and got a quote. Then I called them all back and told them the lowest price I got and asked if they could match it. Some flat out told me "no way". Mine was custom ordered so there was lots of haggle room. I got them split right down the middle between MSPR and Invoice which was where I wanted it to be. Local and availability make a huge difference.

Good luck

Here is what I paid for my MY 2013 A6 2.0 CVT P+ /Bose/Side Assist

Sticker : $49,220
Invoice: $45,841
4% discount on sticker = -$1968.80
Total = $47,251.20
Audi Loyalty bonus = -$1,500
Total Paid = $45,751.20

Perhaps I could have gotten more off but they had it in stock and Bose models are rare for the 2.0. I didn't want to wait on a special order.

How did you get $70k? Invoice is $61,762...You can get it for $61k w/o even haggling. Add in $1500 Conquest/Loyalty and it goes down to $59k...Def a good deal at $55...
