New 2012 A6 Garnet Red with Prestige Pkg
Was a previous owner of a 1976 Audi Fox many years ago and just purchased a Garnet Red Audi A6 with the prestige pkg, innovation pkg, Bang & Olefson sound system, 20" sport pkg and rear side air bags. I traded in a 2010 Matador Red Mica Lexus HS250. Loved that color red. The garnet red is a slightly lighter red and of course is a pearl vs. metallic paint but looks great in its own way. The adaptive cruise control is phenomenal. It will take the car down to a complete stop and with just a touch of accelerator will take control after a complete stop. Was not sure the B&O was really worth it but after playing a music DVD I'm convinced it is. It sounded fantastic with no distortion that I could hear with the audio cranked up to full.

Just FYI since it seems that some aren't aware of this - another way to resume motion after the adaptive cruise control has brought the vehicle to a complete stop is to hit RESUME (pull the stalk forward) after the traffic starts moving again.

Did you order the vehicle or buy one from inventory? It seems that the car I want doesn't exist so I'm compelled to order it. A Prestige Ibis White over black w/aluminum trim and the 18" sport wheel pkg - and that's it, didn't want any of the other options.
Wish the wheels offered on the 18s were also available on the larger rims but obviously that's not the case. Oh well, guess I'm going just have to wait. My wife is ready to kill me and I literally just bought the car on Friday. Dealership said 10-12 weeks but ...have to admit the wait is going to be tough.

I bought this vehicle from the dealers inventory. I have really been looking for an A7 garnet red with prestige and innovation pkg but hard to impossible to find in any inventory but the A6 was also under consideration and then found this vehicle in the Norwalks dealer inventory. It had everything I wanted plus the Bang & Olufsen sound system which was ok but not required. Well after listening to it for awhile I'm glad I have it. It is awsome in my opinion.

I must tell you the red looks awesome - I hadn't considered it but from your pix, outstanding choice. Funny, I've never owned a red car - lol. Just a beautiful vehicle and hope you enjoy every second.
I started out wanting the new A6 but after my first test drive, I was actually disappointed. Went next door to BMW and fell in love with the 5 series. Looked at the 2011 BMW 528, tried the brand new 2012 528 four banger with turbo and then decided on the 2011 or 2012 535, whether the deal was better since there are no real changes for that model.
But load the car up with a reasonable amount of equipment (forget xdrive because of cost) and the vehicle MSRPs for >$64k. Got the typically dealer run around (maybe a little worse then usual) with pricing and went back to my Audi salesman after reading about the Dynamic handling suspension settings and took a second test drive.
OMG, it was like driving a different vehicle and the rest is history. I still love the way the 5 series looks and the interior has a bit more "sport" feel to it imo, but "drivability", forget about it - the Audi blows it away in all areas, from handling to power. I'm thrilled about my A6 decision, just going to be impossible to wait 75 days to get my new ride.
Again I say enjoy your new ride, the car looks awesome and your configuration has got to be outstanding!!
