Default New TDI on the way!

Just completed the purchase of one of the left over, new, 2016 tdi’s! Ibis White with black interior and white headliner. Nothing too fancy - premium plus, sport, cold packages and Bose. I got a deal that was just way too good to pass up. The car pretty much cost me what my ‘99 a4 cost me 20 years ago.
Now I am just waiting for the trucking company to pick it up from The Audi Exchange in Chicago and deliver it. They have been really good to work with. .....And to start figuring out all the “new” features in this car.

I am anticipating it. I never really considered a TDI, but upon learning of the release, I started looking at the specs and that 428 lbs-ft of torque really stood out.

You will love it, I have 80,000 miles on my 2014, no troubles with the car EVER, 65,000 miles on first set of rotors and pads, uses NO oil between 10,000 mile changes.

Forget all the 'new features, you can get those in any car ---> it's that engine that will have you grinning! Each occasion i've had to drive a loaner for routine maintenance only reinforces the difference that engine makes.

I bought my "leftover" in June and now have around 10K miles on it. The best car I have ever owned, period. I had to go clear across the country to find the one with all of the option I wanted (and none I didn't) but it was worth it as it was the last chance to buy a new TDI A6. Instead of shipping we actually drove it 3800 miles home and it was a very enjoyable drive. Especially along the interstate in Montana where the speed limit was 85

One last thing I forgot to mention. When you receive the car examine the paint and trim closely. My dealer assured me the car had been stored in a garage but it clearly wasn't and when I showed up to pick it up it was clear that they hadn't done a great job of prepping it or rubbing out all of the surface flaws it developed from sitting outside for 2 years (mostly water spots and stains). Also, they damaged some of the rubber trim by pressure washing it. I was able to negotiate an additional $500 off to cover the cost of a detailing when I returned (which I did myself) and they supplied the replacement trim pieces which I installed after they shipped them to me. After a good compounding and polishing the car looked as good as new.

I didn't realize that these were released that long ago. I thought it was a recent thing. I just found out when a coworker's brother was asking about them a few weeks ago. He got a great deal and I used that number to negotiate my deal. It seems like they are selling pretty quick and they are pretty close to having the same options.
...Is the speed limit really 85, or is that just the suggested limit? I may head out that way this summer. My wife wants to go out west to some National Parks and I have a friend that lives in Montana, not too far from Glacier.
