Paint issue
Hey guys, question about paint warranty...
was looking at the car and noticed this on the passengers side near the front window.
Looks like the paint cracked and flaked off. There has never been damage to that area of the car. Does the paint warranty cover issues like this or just corrosion? This shouldn't be happening to a 18 mo old car.
Happy 4th to all!

It's right above where the a pillar meets the hood. The glass is the windshield. It's not big (pic is pretty close) but really shouldn't be happening. Thanks for the replies, need to bring it in to have it looked at.

Thanks for the larger picture. Who pays the bill might depend on the dealer. They could say that it is damaged from winter salt or a ice scraper.
Some people have had the "A" pillars covered with paint protection film.

This exact thing happened to my 08 BMW 335 after about a year.. Fixed no questions asked. The dealer said it was a defect in metallic paint application. Even got a really nice loaner (535) for the 3 days

Good to hear that BMW did the right thing, hoping that Audi does as well. They'll have to repaint that pillar all the way back to make it look right though.

I would expect that Audi will cover the cost of refinishing the pillar. Probably caused by a bonding issue in that particular area. No factory paint should flake or peel after only 18 months.

Update
Took it down to Audi yesterday, took one look and approved it for repair. Just have to wait and hear back from the body shop as to how/when. They said it happens pretty rarely with audi paint
