Recall
Post below from MSN Frontpage
***Volkswagen AG (VOWG_p.DE) is recalling about 281,500 Volkswagen and Audi brand vehicles in the United States in three separate recalls, each due to fuel leaks but with different causes, according to a regulatory filing on Friday.
No one has been injured as a result of these issues, a Volkswagen spokeswoman said on Friday. While the fuel leaks could increase the risk of fire, there have been no fires reported, she said.
Affected models are gasoline versions of the 2009-2012 model year Audi Q5 SUVs, and 2007-2012 Audi Q7 SUVs; gasoline versions of 2012-2013 Audi A6 and A7 sedans; as well as all engine types of 2015-2016 VW Golf, VW SportWagen, VW GTI, and Audi A3 sedans and Audi A3 Cabriolet***

I Called My SA and he stated that my VIN was in the recall batch - I have an EARLY 2012 A6. mentioned that parts were being made and supplies are not yet available.

It wasn't the dealer. I was speaking to a representative at Audi of America. She seemed as if she was in training, because I could clearly hear her asking the questions I asked her to someone else. So, after that I kind of dropped trying to receive more information on the updates. I've seen people on the forums say that they've received updates from the dealer, but I have yet to try the dealer as I have not built a relationship with my local Audi Dealership.

Generally, MMI updates will only be done for free if you can point to a specific problem that an update would resolve and then only if the car is still under warranty. You can search for plenty of threads discussing the various issues that have been resolved by an update including problems with Windows phones not connecting, Bose speaker issues and others. Dealers will not be reimbursed for an MMI update by Audi under warranty without a reason.
Pre facelift C7s do not come with free nav map data updates even under warranty. The dealers charge an incredible $300-400 mostly due to the labor time while the car takes up a service bay while the update is uploading.
