replace halogen with HID
Hello Audiworld...
I bought a 2013 A6 C7 and it replaced my aging 2002 A4 3.0. I was on a budget and couldn't find an A6 2.0T with HID. On my 02 A4 I bought some factory OEM headlight assemblies and swapped them out with the halogens. This setup has been working for the past 13 years.
Can anyone confirm that I can swap out the factory halogen with factory HID assemblies in my A6. I found some on ebay. I asked the dealer but they keep giving me the run around.
I searched the forum and couldn't find anything. Thanks in advance for your help.

kufatec has adapters from Halogen to LED (http://www.kufatec.com/shop/en/Audi/...on?action_ms=1) and as far as I know the LED are plug and play with the adaptive Xenon). So there should be a way to upgrade Halogen to Xenon but it may likely require the replacement of the power control unit and new coding besides Xenon headlights and balasts.

Don't put HID bulbs in a halogen housing. The focal point on a halogen housing will be wrong and you'll be spraying light everywhere but where you need it (which will annoy oncoming drivers and give you worse lighting than with the stock halogen set-up). If you want to do it properly, do a housing swap, like you did with your previous car. If you retrofit HID housings, I'm fairly certain they can be coded to your car by the dealer. Otherwise, just live with what you have.
