Default is the s6 grill interchangeable with the a6 grill?

Hi, is the S6 grill interchangeable with the A6 grill? The S6 grill is sportier than the A6 grill so I was hoping to replace my A6 grill with the S6 grill. My A6 is MY2016.

I see from your signature, that you have the Prestige model. The S6 also uses the S-line bumper covers so the grill should fit.

@10speed - is that only true for the front bumper? A local mod shop told me that the S6 rear valance was not interchangeable with the one on the rear S-Line bumper. Not sure if the mod shop was potentially trying to put the 2015 S6 valance on the 2016 S-Line rear bumper with the issue being that the bumper changed between model years.

It should work. I also have the prestige. I bought in on the Deval rear diffuser found on another forum months ago. It was sold as an S or S-line fit. I can tell you that it fit perfect for me. Now word of warning, if you go with an S rear, it will be made for the quad tip exhaust. I don't know what your plans our, but the A6 exhaust will look funny with that much opening. I know from experience.

See my signature. Note the S6 valance and S6 black optics front grille.
However not sure about the latest 2016 model so that would be worthwhile checking into.

No they won't. I just ran into this with my car from the Body Shop. The shop ordered an S6 bumper (rather than the s-line), and when they went to put it on, the rear verticle supports wouldn't line up, and the Audi rings wouldn't line up. So since the bumper/sensors etc...were all painted, they just returned the A6 grille, and threw an S6 on.

Seems like it would, but the shop spent 3+ weeks figuring out they wouldn't interchange.

For 2016, I believe that the S6 and A6 with the S-line Pkg have identical front bumpers. I am pretty sure that it will fit.

If you newer members who haven't already done so would put your model and year in your sigs, it would be helpful to others reading your posts. Location in your avatar would also be nice.

Kevin, where do you live in LI? I grew up in Freeport, Wantagh and much later lived in Huntington.
