This one is close but it's got a C instead of a B in the part number (i.e. 2.5TDI):

Maybe someone can explain what this one is (and maybe I need this one):

Thanks Oscar. I'll keep checking on ebay. In the meantime, I do have a military friend stationed in Hamburg who can check on the part locally there for me. Not a big deal, but I'd still like to know the difference between full and overfull. Regular dipstick, good-to-go. Electronic dipstick, nope (until you hit the overfilled warning). If it works out, you may see me selling them on ebay, filling a needless void left by Audi and ECS tuning.

You can write to Jim Royston (jim@dieselgeek.com)

He specialized in VW Diesel and I am pretty sure he can advise and get the parts you need.

Good luck

Will do. Thanks Turbo!

EDIT: Sent Jim an email. Will report back...

Edit#2: Got an answer back from dieselgeek. They gave the website for an England VW dealer. Nothing in this country.

I tried the one from IDparts however it was "AM" instead of "AB" That didn't work as it was too long. I spoke with them and they are attempting to see if they can get the correct ones for our cars in stock. I never would have thought that it would be this difficult to get a dipstick.

Please keep us informed if/when you receive the TDI dipstick. I'm also interested.
After the initial 5k service i noticed that the cap on the tube was gone. I replaced it with a rubber stopper and intend to get that replaced at the dealer at the 15k service with the proper cap or a dipstick.
I'm wondering if the dealer replaces the oil nowadays by sucking it out the dipstick tube or through the drain plug at the bottom of the engine. Anybody know the answer?

Pardon the old thread response. Has there been any verification as to which part number is the correct dipstick length for a C7 A6 3.0TDI?

Anyone have luck? Wonder if a A5 3.0TDI euro stick could work as well...?
