Adding additional lighting to the road?
Hi all!
I have a 2012 A6 Prestige with Xenon headlights and would like to get more light to the road. Any recommendations on what I can do to improve lighting?
Another question, would comparable LED headlight bulbs produce better lighting than D3S bulbs?

LED's may not necessarily increase light output even if lumen count is higher. The optics of the headlight may not be optimized for whatever LED you buy vs. the xenon bulb.

Since your car is a 2012, I would replace both lamps. HID lamps lose lumens over time, It may increase your output by 15-20%
1. First and foremost, make sure your headlights are aim properly. I like my headlights perfectly horizontal to the road, i find most cars have their headlights way to low.
2. As mentioned above, your housing wasn't designed with an LED lamp installed, skip this idea.
3. Retrofit, it means removing the existing projector and replacing it with a higher quality projector. Most OEM projectors aren't that good and have a frazzled or milky color lens. A good projector will have a clear lens and good optics which is controlled by the housing behind the projector.
