Default Weather Stripping Fading Prematurely

OK, this thread may be a little misplaced but I'd really like to target other C7 owners. It seems the weather stripping on my A6 is looking a little tired (slight fading) for only 4 months old. Most notable are the 2 rubber strips that connect the windshield to the A-pillars. It's nothing drastic but I fear what they may look like next year. Anyone else experiencing this?

After 5 months, I'm not seeing this yet on my A6, however, I've had this occur on previous cars, particularly if the car is kept outside all the time. There are many good rubber restorers on the market. Google it. I'm sure many on the forum will have a preference.

I have a 9 year old A4 and had a 2010 Q5 for 2 years and now the A6 for a 7 months. The A4 rubber looks great for a 9 year old car, the Q5 rubber started to fade after less than a year and the A6 rubber looks bad already too. Comparing the A4 and the A6, the A6 rubber is definitely softer. Not sure why, maybe it's just cheaper. Both cars are parked in a garage at nifght and the A4 spends most days outside while the A6 is mostly parked inside. I also tried several products that were recommended by others, none was able to make the A6 rubber looks as good as the 9 year old A4 rubber. I got used to it but the quality simply isn't there anymore.

I notice a similar problem with my 2011 A8 though it appears more like permanent water spotting. Previous posts on this suggested a light film of silicone or various rubber treatments. The silicone worked but after several washings it was do it again or live with it; I chose the latter until I get back into a detailing mood. I had an '06 A6 that had similar, uneven discoloration along the rubber blades either side of the windshield and I had nothing else on hand but spray on tire treatment. Sprayed a little on a cloth, applied and had fairly good results, though, again, it's a repetitive process. I hope you don't mind me butting in on the C7 forum.

I have noticed this too. And tried a number of products to make it black. Nothing has worked. Anyone have ideas on a rubber product that will make it black? I'm mainly bothered bynthe wide strip near the windshield but also around the windows.
