Audi C8 New MMI Software Update
#11
Not a feature, they squashed one bug and introduced another. I think I remember reading somewhere that Audi out sourced this MMI development to Delphi but long term plan is to bring it in house. I get the feeling we are beta testers for their car+software kit...

I thought I was losing my mind. My car went for a separate service two/three weeks ago and they told me they did some software updates.
I noticed a bit more lower end power (2.0t). I also noticed that curb detections aren’t as consistent as they used to be. The big thing that irritates me is the guide lines on the back up camera are not really centered as they should be. Definitely noticeable since the update. Now that I hear you all speaking ok it, I know I’m not totally crazy.

I have an update on this: I took my car into the Audi dealership, with videos showcasing slow lower MMI screen bootup, with blank Auto Start/Stop button, and hit/miss on curb detection. They informed me that the new MMI software was written to desensitize the PDC sensors due to feedback by US customers that complained about the warnings always kicking in. They are also unable to revert back to the old software. The dealership suggested that if enough people in the US complained about the new issue, then Germany would perhaps write software to amend to the new software version to get back what we lost.
